Black Acacia Wood Hollow Form with Natural Edge

Turned "Green" or when the wood was freshly cut and still wet.  After the piece was finished on the lathe it was left to dry and distort with the natural tension in the wood creating an oval contraction as it dries. 

While creating this piece, Carmen took full advantage of the color, grain orientation and placement of the top opening to reflect what she saw in the wood - a female neckline leading down to an off-centered top revealing a bit of cleavage.
