Carmen De La Paz

After years in design & construction as Designer, Carpenter and Decorative Painter, Carmen De La Paz fell in LOVE with woodturning! Carmen now teaches from her workshop in Los Angeles, and is often invited to demonstrate and teach her decorative finishes and texture techniques for woodturning and furniture. 

After years in design & construction as Designer, Carpenter and Decorative Painter, Carmen De La Paz fell in LOVE with woodturning!  AND to enhance her woodturning, Carmen took up woodcarving. Carmen now teaches from her workshop in Los Angeles, and is often invited to demonstrate and teach her decorative finishes and texture techniques for woodturning and furniture. 

After years of working in design & construction as Designer and Decorative Painter, Carmen De La Paz took up carpentry! Realizing  working with tools came easily to her, instead of hiring a carpenter, Carmen decided to become one.

Recently relocating to Austin, Texas, Carmen has launched De La Paz Designs & Artisan School where she now teaches and creates custom and commissioned pieces from her workshop. Often invited to demonstrate and teach her techniques for decorative finishes & textures for wood, her last year of trips include; Australia TurnFest Allstar Symposium, South Africa Woodturning Symposium and Puerto Rico for exhibits and workshops. 

After years in design & construction as Designer, Carpenter and Decorative Painter, welder, woodturner, DIY Expert -  Carmen De La Paz combines it all on Television through her unique projects and decorative touches.  Carmen injects a female esthetic and perspective to wielding power tools and bringing things to life with wood, paint and metal.  See some of Carmen's projects here!
