Turned Wood Candle Pillar Holder

Carmen brought back this piece of Mahogany wood from one of her visits to Puerto Rico.  As with all woodworkers, Carmen believes much of the fun in woodworking comes when dealing with different wood species as each feels and reacts differently.  

Mahogany from Puerto Rico grows years rounds with a dense grain and high wax content it makes for a very heavy wood.  Often used to make many utilitarian objects from boats to beds to kitchen items, this Mahogany has wonderful swirls of red, brown and golden tones.

• Sealed with Natural Wax and oils.
